Palm Beach Post Review of Gulf Place
Santa Rosa Beach is blessed to be situated in one of the most pristine areas in the southeastern US, while still having easy access to a number of nearby State Parks, great restaurants and shopping, and all the attractions and activities available in Destin, Ft. Walton Beach, Seaside & Panama City.
Restaurants
Elmo's Grill is one of our favorite places! It's a casual familiy friendly beach restaurant that's less than a five minute drive from our condo. The food is fresh, unpretentious and reasonably priced considering the great quality of the food.
One of our favorite aspects of the restaurant is that they
regularly have music and activities for the kids. The activities range from
playing limbo to dancing and all-around general silliness. We never get tired
of this place! You'll be right at home in flip-flops and a T-shirt.

Located at Gulf Place, Amore Pizzaria is a great place to have a
delicious low-key pizza dinner without having to get in the car. You can either eat
outside on the second-floor balcony dining area and watch all the activity in the
ampetheatre and the artist's colony, or you can eat inside in the airconditioning
and take a break from the sun.

Another great place to sit outside and enjoy a great meal.
They specialize in fresh seafood with fresh seasonal vegetables.

Miss Lucille's is as sassy as they come! It's part ice cream shop, coffee shop, internet cafe, corner store, and gift shop. They've even been featured in Southern Living magazine. I find myself in there a couple of times every day I'm in town.
Golf
Golf magazine called this course "The purest golf on the panhandle" and it's
right next door! The beach club features ocean front fine dining. The 18 hole golf
course is challenging for almost any golfer and features the areas only Gulf of
Mexico fronting holes at reasonable rates.

Nearby Parks
Eden State Gardens is one of our favorite things to do when we need a break from the sun. The park is less than 15 minutes from our condo and is a trip back in time to Old Florida. The plantation home is surrounded by gardens shaded by centuries old Live Oak trees draped with Spanish Moss. Grand gardens surround the home and its lawns that open out onto the pristine Choctawahatchee Bay.
Grayton Beach State Park
Topsail Beach State Park
Santa Rosa Beach is fortunate to have two nearby beaches preserved as State Parks. Topsail beach is about five minutes away to the west (just beyond Elmo's Restaurant) and Grayton Beach is about ten minutes to the east. These parks are in addition to the mostly uncrowded public beaches scattered along County Highway 30A -- one of which is right across the street from our Condo and adjacent to our deeded beach area.
Gulf Place Activities
The Artist's Colony is such a great part of Gulf Place. There's always something new and creative. There's lots of open space too around the Artists shops, so the kids can safely play within sight on the grass while we can look at all thre great work each of these artists do.
No matter what your taste is like, you're sure to find something interesting at one of the shops.

Just rent all the baby stuff you need instead of lugging it down in the car or on the plane.
They rent almost anything you need for babies and young children.
